Ellenwood

Ellenwood, Georgia, is situated at the northern end of Henry County and extends into Rockdale, Clayton, and DeKalb Counties, fostering a unique cross-county community. One of its defining features is the historic Old Stagecoach Road, which traverses the area. This road, with roots reaching back to the time of Creek Natives, served as a vital artery connecting significant landmarks such as the Etowah Mounds and the old Hightower trail.

As the region welcomed pioneers, the road retained its significance, earning its name by serving as one of the pivotal stagecoach stops along the Eastern Seaboard.
