The Clerk of Superior Court is one of the oldest existing constitutional offices in Henry County, GA. The office records and documents all oaths and orders, and land records. The word clerk is a derivative of the word cleric; in medieval times, religious clerics were some of the only people who knew how to read and write, so they proved helpful in medieval court proceedings as recorders of the court's actions.
